Outlook client on Windows 7 64-bit, using Exchange 2010.
We have hundreds of similar machines, but this one user has a big problem.
To view another user's folder in Outlook, or to send messages on another user's behalf, perform the following procedure.
We have the following setup: Big Hyper-V machine hosting the servers as VM's VM for CAS: WEB. XXX.local Servers are running Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2010 SP1 Clients are all running Windows 7 Pro x64 with Outlook 2010 x64 The problem we're having is that nobody is able to see any emails received today (16th of October), but they are able to send externally.
If you have been granted appropriate permissions, you can use Outlook to view other user's folders and send messages on their behalf.
If you only want to see the inbox, grant the user whatever level of access you feel comfortable with to the inbox folder.
Then, on the top level (where it has the email address or mailbox name), right click and select Data File Properties (2010) or Properties (2007 and earlier). Grant only Reviewer access to the "top" of the mailbox. Get Namespace("MAPI") Set my Recipient = my Namespace.
When I reply back to the email received externally, I don't get an NDR, yet the user cannot see my email.
